Privacy policy
The help tools work on your device and send nothing. Only the forum sends data to this site. This page lists what it sends, who handles it, and how to delete it.
What stays on your device
- Triage, the dispute kit, the deadline tracker, the letters on the help pages, and the PAUSE steps: what you type or choose stays in your browser. It is not sent to this site or to anyone else.
- What your browser keeps: saved deadlines, your forum votes and hidden statements, and your light or dark setting. They stay until you clear them below, or clear this site's data in your browser.
What the forum sends
- Votes: the statement, your choice, and the page language, with a random browser code. Only a scrambled version of that code is stored.
- Suggested statements: the text and the page language. Text with links, email addresses, social media handles, or phone numbers is refused and not saved. An AI model checks the rest for names and contact details, and a person reads it before anyone sees it.
- Reports: the statement, the reason you chose, and the page language. Nothing about you is saved with a report.
Who handles it
- Vercel hosts the site and the app. It sees each visit, including your IP address, in short-term logs.
- Neon stores votes, suggestions, and reports, in Frankfurt, Germany.
- OpenRouter passes each suggested statement to Mistral Small, or Gemini as a backup, on EU servers. We set it to use only services that promise not to keep the text or train on it. We can ask for that promise but can't inspect it. What OpenRouter keeps is covered by its own privacy policy.
No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don't sell anything you send.
Cookies
- forum_voter holds the random browser code for your votes. Your browser sends it only to the forum's own addresses, scripts can't read it, and it lasts 180 days.
- NEXT_LOCALE remembers your language. It holds only the language code.
How to delete your data
On this device: this button removes everything this site saved in this browser. It does not remove your votes from the server.
- Your votes on the server: on the forum, press “Clear my votes and start over” after the last statement. Do this before you clear your browser's data: without the code in this browser, we can't tell which votes are yours.
- A suggestion, or anything else: email feedback@aiconsumerrights.org. Quote the suggestion, since we can't tell which one is yours.
